Pioneer releases its new DVD Player which corresponds to the 1080p output of DVD video and the DSD signal output of SACD, the “DV-800AV�. Schedule to hit the market in October at a MSRP of ¥70,000. The player does not support to playback the Blu-Ray discs and HD-DVD media, However, This universal DVD player capable of upscaling in 1080p (HDMI) and supports to playback the DivX, XviD, SACD (Super Audio CD) formats. Measures 420×314×102mm and weight 5.3kg, The DV-800AV has loads HDMI, component, D4 and S image, composite, optical digital sound, coaxial digital sound, analog stereo sound and analog multichannel sound x1 for connectivity and multi-channel PCM and DSD audio, making it an ideal source device or digital transport for audiophiles.

Hey, a little off topic… but do you happen to know when Pioneer (or anyone for that matter) will be coming out with a dual channel DVR plus DVD Recorder? I’m tired of renting this box from Comcast and paying monthly fees for the service, and I won’t pay Tivo either… but Pioneer used to have a sweet system, but for some reason (can’t remember at the moment, I’m half asleep) I eventually decided against it… and oddly there weren’t a lot of competing products.
Oh, I remember why I never bought it! The DVR was only one channel, which sucks. But there weren’t a whole lot of these types of combo units on the market all together. Anyway, just curious if you were hearing any rumblings?
