Microsoft To Release Xbox 360 HD DVD Emulator
Known as a worldwide leader in software, services and solutions, Microsoft has unveils its new software that could be use to “streamline development or testing for HD DVD content” as well as “accelerate the advancement” of next-generation interactivity. Technically speaking, the Xbox 360 HD DVD Emulator allows studios to “model the behavior of HD DVD disc content, including encoded video and HDi interactivity, in a virtual environment.” Off course, it will help a companies to reduced the amount of time wasted but it required a Xbox 360 + HD DVD peripheral, a connection to Xbox Live and $2,999 (software prices).

With Toshiba announcing the end of HD DVD it looks like Microsoft might have made a bit of an error going down this road! At least they were clever enough to not build in the HD DVD with the xbox as then the console may be in real trouble! BluRay emulator anyone?
