Becker Traffic Assist 7977 GPS Navigation
Becker has coming out with its latest “Traffic Assist 7977″ satnav device. Like the 7827 model, the 7977 also bundled a map coverage of U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico that provided by Navteq, means you can plot routes across town or across the country. It comes at a mere 7.1 oz and measuring only 0.75″ thin, making it very compatible to sit in a vehicles and as an entertainment system when you hit the road. Each $599 purchase, you’ll get a real-time traffic information and rerouting service by Clear Channel Communications. More specs after the jump

One bad thing I do not like with Becket after using it for 3 years is that the map updates are not made available in their web site nor are there any information as how to get them. With great difficulty I figured out that the maps are Navteq , but it costs almost half the price of the navigator 7934 which I have, to update!! Too expensive compared with many others like MIO which are free.
My Becker GPS will not work with the Eastern section of Florida but seems to work elsewhere. Can you make some suggestions as to what is wrong? Thanks, Margie Hufstetler
