The Toshiba’s Portege R500-S5007V is a 12.1-inch ultra-portable laptop that hold a title as a world’s lightest laptop on the market with a 128GB SSD and DVD SuperMulti drive. At just 0.77-inch thick and weighing only 2.4 pounds, the laptop features boasts an LED backlight, an ultra low voltage 1.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor U7700, up to 8 hours of battery life, a 2GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM, Wi-Fi a/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and gigabit ethernet for connectivity options. It also has integrated biometric fingerprint reader and Toshiba’s own EasyGuard encryption system for enhanced a data security. The Portege R500 is available for $2,999 with Windows Vista Business OS and backed three-year warranty.
