Fujitsu has launched the world’s first “fingerprint-recognition” waterproof phone, the Fujitsu F-01A, that designed for user-friendly security and convenience and offers a level of security beyond normal passwords, with the fingerprint used to lock the stored files and personal information, thanks to the AuthenTec’s revolutionary new TouchStone packaging and AuthenTec’s TrueNav technology for touchpad-like navigational control via AuthenTec’s AES1711 fingerprint sensor. Features include a 3.5-inch widescreen VGA touchscreen display, 1Seg mobile TV tuner, 5.2 megapixel camera with Autofocus, built-in GPS using Mobile Google Maps with Street View, e-Wallet mobile payment capability, and running under Symbian OS. Furthermore, The F-01A does waterproof meet the IPX5 and IPX7 standard, which means the phonecase can withstand accidental immersion in one meter of water for half an hour. Price are unknown, but it available in Japan through NTT DoComo.
