2010 Toyota Prius Unveiled

Toyota at the North American International Auto Show 2009 has showcased the all-new 50-mile-per gallon rated third-generation Prius hybrid car which uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with VVT-i that provides 98 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 105 lb-ft torque at 4,000 rpm. Toyota claims the increased torque allows the engine to run at lower rpm on the highway, saving more fuel. The 2010 Prius has three driving modes;  The familiar EV-Drive allows battery-only propulsion at low speed with limited range — Power mode increases throttle sensitivity for what Toyota calls a sportier feel — and Eco mode that helps the driver achieve their best mileage.
