Nokia 6216 Classic NFC Phone Announced

The new Nokia 6216 classic phone is a third Nokia’s NFC from that has announced at the 3rd annual WIMA conference recently. The NFC (Near Field Communication) itself is a new technology that allows the users to quickly make small payments of a few dollars with a wave or tap of the phone, as well as buy transit tickets the same way, however it will work just with the NFC SIM cards. Measures 114.7 x 47.1 x 14.5 mm and weighs only 88 grams, the 6216 classic comes with a 2″ TFT display with 16.7 million colors and QVGA resolution, Enhanced Series 40 User Interface, 22MB of internal memory, microSDHC card slot (up to 8GB supported), Bluetooth connectivity, and 2-megapixel camera with flash. The battery offers up to 3 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby. The phone runw on GSM/EDGE and WCDMA networks at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and 850/2100 MHz bands, respectively. Nokia says that the 6216 classic will be available in selected market from 3Q of 2009 and will retail for around €150 ($195).
