Verizon Officially Announces BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230

Verizon has finally made the RIM’s first Pearl Flip clamshell BlackBerry handset available — the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230. The phone will available only in silver color, but the customers will also get the VZ Navigator for using the built-in GPS in addition to RIM’s built-in BlackBerry Maps. Other highlights include 2-megapixel camera, 3G data over EVDO, microSDHC storage up to at least 16GB, support for BlackBerry App World, BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and multimedia capabilities. It also supports Verizon’s Visual Voice Mail app for out-of-order messages. Verizon will offer the smartphone starting June 19th for $129.99 with a two-year contract and after a $70 mail-in rebate.
